Vintage Silver Bazuband Bracelet from Rajasthan, India
A Rajasthani Indian bracelet from the first decades of the twentieth century made of row upon row of slender rods of silver (tested) and crafted so that bracelet can bend to take the shape of your wrist. The bracelet ends are threaded onto a cotton chord. The closure is a cotton loop and button. There is a stamp on the inside of the bracelet that could be the artisan's stamp in Devanagari script?
The bracelet has one of the rods standing out a bit, it has scratches and the black cotton is dusty and a little frayed on one end, but apart from that it is in good condition and is totally wearable.
The silver part measures 14 cm (5 1/2") and the cord adds some more length for a total length of 17.5 cm (6 7/8"). Width is 6 cm or 2 1/2 inches. Weight is 126.3 grams.
