Vintage Yemeni Silver Filigree Pendant Necklace
The beautiful pendant on this necklace is Yemeni made in the mid-twentieth century from with silver wire using a technique known as filigree. Tiny silver sires fill-in set frames to make beautiful patterns. The pendant is a stylized hand of Fatima, a protective symbol. The dangles stand in for fingers. The dangles are spherical bells that make a nice tinkling noise with movement. The pendant must have had a gold gilt at one time because it has that golden hue. The pendant tests as silver, however, the accompanying handmade chain is not silver. The necklace is slip on and is in great vintage shape.
