Antique Hallmarked Chaoui Silver Bracelet

This is an antique Berber silver bracelet from the early 20th century. It was worn by the Chaui, a Berber group from the Aures Mountains in eastern Algeria. It was also worn by Ouled Nail women and often stacked on the arms.  See the last photo which is an antique postcard depicting an Ouled Nail woman wearing such bracelets (from a 1915 French postcard Collection Ideale P.S.)

The bracelet is made of good silver and has floral and diamond patterns. The bracelet ends with a hook clasp which ensures that the bracelet remains attached to your arm. The bracelet is in good condition with a lovely silky patina.
