This is a rare find. A very finely worked and preserved silver anklet worn in Egypt from the beginning of the 20th century. Known locally as khulkhal, the anklet is entirely made of 800 silver and decorated on all but the inner side with fine chasing techniques.  The bracelet has assay marks in many places and the three-part hallmark of Egypt identifies it as having been made between 1947-48.  It has a screw-type closure and is in very good vintage condition. A rare find indeed. A similar anklet is present in the Museum Quai Branly's Collection (71.1989.25.174.1-2)

The inner circumference is 22.5 cm (8 3/4") and the inner diameter is 8 cm (3"). The width is 2 cm (3/4") at the widest and the weight is 105.5 grams.
