Vintage Bedouin Necklace or Forehead Ornament

A mixed metal Bedouin necklace from Southern Yemen or Saudi Arabia. The top part is decorated with a central rectangular element adorned with a red glass cabochon. The rest of the necklace is made of slender rectangular elements and two triangular finials. The necklace is worn either over the forehead or tightly around the neck. The necklace has a series of bell dangles as well as stylized hand pendants to protect one from the evil eye. The necklace chain ends with a hook and eye mechanism.
