An old early twentieth-century triangle pendant. It is made in a style that is common to both Yemen and Saudi Arabia Bedouins. The triangular shape in Bedouin culture is amuletic, as is the red color of the beads.
I think that this particular pendant is Saudi in origin. It is made of a brassy mix of metals and decorated with three oval red glass cabochons at each end and a fourth red cabochon at the center. There are also roping and applique diamond shapes and six pairs of chains with bell-like dangles. The pendant has some oxidation and a diamond dangle missing, but it would look great in a shadow box or worn as a pendant.
- Pendant is 13 x 9.5 cm (5 1/4 x 4").
- Dangles are an additional 8 cm (just over 3").
- Weight is 109 grams.
