This is a large pendant from Afghanistan worn by nomads. It was made in the 1970s from mixed metals and decorated with blue, red, and green glass needs. The impressive half-dome center has 10 sets of dangling chains ending in ball dangles. It makes a lovely sound with movement.

This type of pendant was attached to the dress, either on the chest or shoulder area. It can be adapted to be worn as a necklace or belt. It has a double bail for looping string or cord through.
