These rare anklets called kalli, are  made of metal sheeting shaped with repousse and scrollwork as a double makara or dragon whose scales are decorated on the face, top and bottom. The anklets are hollow but quite rigid and not adjustable. They end in opposing large mango-shaped bulbs. This type of anklet was worn by Nepali married women until the birth of a first child. They bring protective powers to the wearer.

The anklets do not test as silver and are in their original state and need a good clean, but are in good vintage condition.
