Vintage Tribal Headdress from Saharan Africa

A unique Saharan headdress with A four and six petaled flower motif. This handmade head adornment has three metal components connected by three strands of handmade chain, each with three dangles. The medallions are hand engraved a little crudely. The ends and middle have a hook to attach to head garments. The headdress is hallmarked at the back in three areas but the metal does not test positive for silver and is likely silver plated copper.  A well informed colleague informs me that it is likely from Libya or Chad. At any rate a rarity and definitely an item for a collector.

The middle medallion measures 8 x 6 cm (3 1/4 x 2 1/4") with an extra 6.5 cm (2 1/2") for the dangles. The circular medallions measure 6 cm (2 1/4") in diameter. Length of headdress end hook to end hook is 48 cm (18"). Weight is 105 g
