This is a lovely Indian silver tribal neck ring from Rajasthan from the mid-twentieth century. It is decorated with beautiful hand incised decoration. The two ends of this rigid torque necklace are decorated with Makara's heads. Makara is a mythical creature thought to have protective powers.
The necklace is entirely made of a good silver alloy. You wear it by prizing the Makara heads apart in opposite directions and slipping your neck in. It is for a petite neck and looks great on. In good vintage condition.
