This is a vintage Omani amulet featuring what looks like a black hard tree thorn mounted in silver that has been embossed in beautiful patterns. Holding the thorn in place is resin-like or wax material. Such amulets would be worn in a necklace, protecting the wearer from harm much as thorns protect a plant.
The amulet is probably from the early 20th century and is in good vintage condition. The thorn's tip is broken and the thorn has tiny holes.
