A Koran or amulet box made from silver (tested). It still has its contents inside but it is sealed.  The short link chain suggests that rather than being used as a pendant, it was hung in the home to give the inhabitants protection. It is decorated with roping and overlaid diamond-shaped sheets of silver. Blue and red beads are set in the pendant's four corners. The word "Allah" is etched in the middle. It is most likely from the Arabian Peninsula, Saudi or Yemeni.

This pendant is estimated to be from the late 19th century to the early 20th century and has suffered some damage. It has a hole in the back. The back has many dents. Part of one edge is missing resulting in the loss of the fifth set of pendants. The existing bell-type dangles have suffered depressions and there is a total of 3 dangles missing. Despite those imperfections, it is an important collector's piece.

9.5 x 7 cm (3 3/4 x 2 3/4") without the bales or dangles. Chain is 37 cm (14 1/2") long. 140 g in weight.
