An old carnelian horse intaglio Afghan ring. It is made of silver and holds in its center a hand-carved agate stone, most likely a carnelian held in a smooth bezel. It hails from Afghanistan circa the 1970s.
This ring shows skilled silver hand-etching workmanship. The intaglio carving is of a stylized grazing horse. The ring tests as good silver on a scratch test and is in excellent vintage condition.
- The face of the carnelian intaglio is approximately 7/8 inches across.
