Antique Jewish Yemeni Silver and Coral Hirz Necklace with Signed Beads
This is a delicate beauty made of individually signed globe beads and a cylinderical hirz (paryer box) all made of high grade silver. The necklace is beaded with small berry beads and genuine coral beads. The necklace ends in small cone terminals and a chain that closes with a simple hook and eye mechanism. The handmade globe beads and hirz were signed and most likely were made by master Jewish silversmiths in Yemen, unfortunately the signature is worn so it's difficult to ascertain who the maker is. The necklace has been restrung and is in great vintage condition.
Length is 48 cm (19"). The hirz is 5 x 2 cm (2 x 3/4"). Weight is 58 grams.
