Silver Zar Matching Pair Egyptian Bracelets
A rare matching pair of zar bracelets from the early first half of the twentieth Century. The pair is made in a C-shape of lower grade silver with lots of disc dangles. The body of the armlet has two hand engraved rings near the hexagonal finials. Worn in the zar ceremony to appease angry spirits. Because of its dangles, the bracelets are very well suited to dance as the discs make a jingly sound with movement. In good vintage condition. Unmarked but tested positive for silver.
Inner circumference is 16.5 cm (6 1/2") with an additional 4 cm (1 1/2") gap. Inner diameter is 7 cm (2 3/4"). Weight for the pair is 270 g.
