Vintage 800 Silver Siwa Berber Wide Cuff Bracelet
A beautiful and well worn piece hand chased with Berber motifs such as the central sun and the fish on the sides. The bracelet has the three part Egyptian hallmark identifying its composition as 80% silver, its origin as Cairo and its birth year is 1982. This type of bracelet was worn in Egypt (the Siwa Oasis), Tunisia and Libya, commonly in pairs, but I only have this one. The bracelet is signed on the inside with two Tughras but I can't make out the stamp of the maker because it was faintly impressed on the silver.
The bracelet is in good vintage condition with nice wear.
Inner circumference : 18.2 cm (7 1/8") with an additional 2.2 cm (7/8") gap. The gap could be made bigger so that you can slip your wrist in. Inner diameter is 6.6 cm (just under 2 5/8"). Width is 7.2 cm (2 7/8") and weight is 110.1 grams.
