Vintage Berber khamsa necklace with a Rihanna or Rihana chain and a khamsa pendant from Tunisia. Each link on this chain is made by hand and soldered shut then hammered to a flat shape. It is typically Tunisian. The pendant is a small khamsa, a hand of Fatima worn by women to protect themselves from evil spirits and envy. Both the chain and the pendant are 800 silver and the khamsa has the "tête de nègre" silver punch mark which was used 1905-1942. The chain is short and has been fitted with a jump ring closure. The necklace is in great condition with lovely smooth patina on the khamsa.
The hand pendant is 4.5 x 3 cm (1 3/4 x 5/8") with the bail.
The chain is 59.5 cm (23 1/4") long.
The individual links are around 0.9 cm or 3/8" in diameter.
