Vintage Berber Silver Cuff with Hand Etched Patterns
A simple Berber silver cuff bracelet worn in Egypt's Siwa Oasis, as well as in Tunisia. The cuff has beautifully incised patterns all around with chevrons symbolizing water and the circles representing fish, Berber symbols that I presume endow fertility. The bracelet is from the first part of the twentieth century and is made of good silver (unmarked, but tested). The gap could be made bigger so that you can slip your wrist in. In good vintage condition, but does have scratches commensurate with age.
