Vintage Indian Silver and Gem Necklace
A beautiful necklace from India, popular in the 1930s and 40s. The necklace is studded with tiny emeralds and rubies and clear stones in the sapphire range. Probably worn for special occasions. The links are shaped like a mango or boteh shaped. The main pendant has a floral motif and seed-pearl bead dangles. The chain ends in a hook and eye mechanism. The chain has several links so you can adjust the length according to your preference. It tests as silver and has a gold gilt to it. The condition of the necklace is good barring loss of some gemstones and a little wear to the gilt.
- The mango links together form 42 cm (16 1/2") in length.
- The O-ring chain is 7 cm (1 3/4") on each side.
