Vintage Indonesian Anklet or Foot Bracelet
An Indonesian anklet made of cast mixed metals. From the early 20th Century.
This bracelet came from Yemen, but it turns out it is indeed Indonesian. The interesting thing is that more than one piece of jewelry has shape and sturcture common to both Yemen and Indonesia. It also turns out (thanks to ethnic jewelry experts and enthusiats who helped me figure all this out) that there was an Arab population from Yemen, specifically from Hadramout who lived in Indonesia under Dutch colonial rule. Who gave whom the inspiration for similar pieces of jewelry?
Inner circumference is 28 cm (11"). Inner diameter is 9.2 cm (3 3/4"). Weight is 200 g
