A vintage Palestinian Haydari bracelet. A much older version in silver exists, but these bracelets were made from the 19th century onwards. This one is a later edition made probably from the 1950s to 70s. It's made mostly of brass, but may have small amounts of silver.

It's a heavy bracelet with five protrusions, each one resembling an eye.  Palestinian jewelry is very rare and much of it has disappeared either into museums or private collections. This is your chance to own a piece from that vibrant cultural heritage.

  • Inner circumference is 13.5 cm (5 1/4") with an extra gap of 2.8 cm (1 1/8").
  • Inner diameter is 5.5 (2 1/8").
  • Width is 2.2 cm (7/8").
  • Weight is 65.6 g.

Haydari bracelets were worn in central Palestine, most famously worn by Bethlehem women, but also by Jaffa women. They were often part of the dowry and a woman had at least two, one for each wrist. Some women wore a few stacked on each arm. Here is an old picture from 1883 of a Bethlehem woman to show how they were worn.
