Vintage Silver Filigree Turkish Necklace with Tassel

A very pretty silver filigree necklace that I thought was from Oaxaca, Mexico, but it turns out it is actually Turkish from Madrin.  The styles of filigree are very similar but I found a very similar style on my latest visit to Turkey.  The necklace has five crescent shaped links worked in fine silver filigree with pointed tassel dangles.  The chain is made of linked oblong filigree links.  The necklace closes with a spring ring mechanism.  The style suggests the first half of the twentieth century.  In good vintage condition, but there is a small dome missing from the middle crescent.  It also could do with a polish.  Unmarked but tested to be silver.

  • Length is 49.5 cm or 19 1/2".
  • The crescent elements are 3 cm or 1 1/4".
  • Weight is 15.6 grams.
