Vintage Silver Kazakh Style Pendant Necklace

This is a beautifully worked Kazakh-style pendant necklace. The Pendant has a raised center that has red paper backing covered over with glass. The pendant also has fine silver granulation all around. I don't know if the pendant contains anything on its inside, but it feels like it might. The design is not typically Kazakh and could have been made by skilled Afghani silversmiths or indeed contemporary Kazakh silversmiths. It is elegant and timeless. The pendant hangs from a silver rope chain that closes with an S-shaped hook. In fine vintage condition apart from a small crack to the glass.

Length of chain: 50 cm (19 3/4"). The pendant measures 8 x 4 cm (3 1/4 x 1 3/4"). Weight is 63 grams.
