Vintage Nubian Ethnic Silver Anklet
This is another rare Nubian ethnic silver anklet with beautiful patina and nice chasing and stamp work patterns as decoration. The anklet ends in the typical three dimensional combination of squares and triangles seen in Yemeni, Tuareg and Nubian bracelets. Similar examples to this anklet can be seen Azza Fahmy's book Enchanted Jewelry of Egypt. you can also wear it as a bracelet. There are holes on the inner sides of both ends of the anklet (see picture), my guess is from being worn so much. Lovely example of Nubian jewelry.
The inner circumference is 20 cm (8") with another 3.5. cm (1 3/8") gap. The Width is 2.2 cm (just under 1") and thicker at the ends. Weight is 125 grams.
