Vintage Silver Octagon Ring from Oman
This is a lovely Omani ring from the 1940s or 50s. This type of square-ish ring is known as kanabir and was worn on the ring finger and sometimes the third finger. Omani women used to wear a ring on each finger. Omani women commonly wore a ring on each of her ten fingers. One style for each ring.
This ring is more octagon than square in shape. It is made from silver has hand incised floral patterns and roping on its thick band It is in good vintage condition and tests as good grade silver.
The face measures 1.5 x 1.5 cm (3/8x3/8"). It weighs 6.5 grams. The ring measures 6 on my mandrel at its middle.
