Vintage Silver Turkmen Headdress Ornament
This is a beautiful Silver Turkmen Headdress ornament that originally adorned a hat and has been converted into a necklace. It is made of three tiers. The top has elongated pieces worked in repousse. The middle has a diamond shaped row of elements also worked in repousse to reveal a four petaled flower. The final tier is a row of diamond shaped dangles which would form a fringe over the wearer's forehead. The ornament tests as silver in all its parts. a small 8 shaped addition forms the closure.
