Vintage Solid Bedouin Cuff with Stylized Snake Head Finials

A very interesting very old Yemeni tribal bracelet from the Hadramout region of Yemen. It is made of mixed metals with some silver content but in low concentrations. It was made in the casting techniques. A similar bracelet can be seen in Silver Treasures from the Land of Sheba by Marjorie Ransom, though this bracelet is quite plain in the middle. The style of the bracelet is also similar to a double Gujarat bracelet with similar finials, and the design may well have been influenced by trade with the Indian subcontinent. Please be aware that the bracelet is quite small and quite solid and is therefore not adjustable.

• The inner circumference is 13 cm (5 1/8") with an additional 2.3 cm (just under 1") gap.
• The inner diameter on the widest side is 5.1 cm (2").
• The width is around 8 mm.
• Weight is 78.6 g.
