This has been a well-loved and well-worn antique kirdan or choker, for a petite woman or girl by the size of it. It was made in the 70s from a 19th-century headdress. All handmade delicate elements. The top tier of a row of repousse elements separated by a couple of genuine coral beads and threaded onto a metal wire. The dangles are repousse grain-like elements, some ending in coral beads. In the middle of the choker sits a lovely portal-shaped element with inset old colored glass. The choker ends in gold chain.  It's possible that this necklace was repurposed from an older one or even from a headdress. The elements were acid tested at a jeweler as 14K gold but they could also be heavily gold plated silver. The chain and the claw clasp which are marked "18" . Some of the rings have been replaced. All but one ring have been soldered shut. There are some minor depressions in some of the repousse elements, one has a hole in it and there is one inset glass missing.
