Antique Pair of Turkish Head Ornaments with Faux Coins

A pair of women’s head ornaments that were attached to a hat or headdress hanging down over the ears or temples. If using only one, it would hang from the middle of the hairdress, such as an example of a similar ornament found in the Musée du Quai Branly. The top part is made of cast metal and the bottom are faux coins. All gold plated. It is from the Late-Ottoman era , end of 19th century to early 20th century. In reasonable condition for their age, but with some defects: on one of the pair the applique discs on the top part are missing and the jump ring and part of the double chain for one of the coin dangles is missing.

Length is 7.5 cm (3") and width is 5 cm (2") at widest. The weight of both is 35 g.
