An impressive Bedouin Bakelite amber beads necklace from the Arabian Peninsula with a large squarish hirz or amulet holder. The hirz is sealed and the bakelite beads have darkened patches which happens when Bakelite is subjected to heat. The bell dangles make a nice noise with movement. The necklace has a hook and eye closure.
The pendant measures 6 x 10 cm (2 1/2 x 4") with bails and dangles.
