A beautiful and imposing Maria Theresa Thaler silver coin pendant made from a real Maria Theresa Thaler silver coin. The pendant was sourced in Saudi Arabia and dates back to the mid-twentieth century.  A single large ring is soldered shut and attached to the double bail.  Six sets of double chains and small stylized hand pendants hang from the bottom of the coin. The chains end in bell dangles.

The Maria Theresa Thaler coin was widely used for trade across the world well after it was first minted. It was also used by silversmiths to create jewelry across the Middle East. This pendant is Bedouin from the Arabian Peninsula, judging by its dangles and chains.  Some of the elements of the pendant have low silver content but otherwise is made of mixed metals. The pendant is in good vintage condition.

  • Length of pendant from ring to bottom of dangles is about 18.5 cm (7 1/4").
  • The diameter of the coin is 3.9 cm  (just over 1 9/16").
  • Weight is 181 g.
