A delicate Egyptian-made necklace from the second half of the twentieth century featuring antique Berber, old Siwa pendants known as Sahalayat or Hawafir. Siwa jewelry reflects its Berber origin. The pendants are made of cast silver and were used in traditional necklaces. They have partial Libyan hallmarks. The pendants are strung in a more modern composition with small green stone beads (green jasper or agate?) and interspersed silver disks.

The choker ends in a silver chain hallmarked at the end with an Egyptian assay mark. The closure is a spring ring marked "925". All the necklace's metal elements, including the chain, test positive for silver.

  • Length is 28 cm (15").
  • The biggest pendant is 3 cm long (1 1/4").
  • Weight is 18 g.
