This complete Berber silver hoop earrings set comes from Ouerzazate in Morocco and it's from the first half of the twentieth century. The set includes two silver hoop earrings with red glass cabochonsĀ surrounded by enamel. From the bottom of the hoopsĀ are handmade filigree spherical beads from which hang filigree dangles that could be stylized hands of Fatima. The two earrings are connected by handmade chains that are in turn connected to a large ringĀ that in turn is connected to a niello pendant. This pendant has a hook that connects to the headdress. The earrings set is complete but for one dangle, and it is in its original uncleaned condition. All the components test as silverĀ

  • Hoops measureĀ 4 cm or 1 3/4" in diameter.
  • With dangles, the earrings are 8.8 cm or just over 3 3/8" long
  • The chain connecting the two earrings is 73.5 cm or 29" long
  • Weight is 63 grams.
  • The ear wires are around 2.7 mm across.
