This is a crude pair of silver earrings worn by Nubian women in Egypt and Sudan. They are each made of a single silver wire that is hand hammered producing uneven edges. One of the earrings is out of round and both close with a thinned-out wire fitting into a hoop at the end. The earrings will not fit into a standard earhole. They may be nose rings but I think they are more likely to be earrings.
The diameter is 5 cm (2"). The warped earring measures 5 x 4.2 cm (2 x 1 5/8"). Weight is 15.8 g.
