Vintage Yemeni Hirz Pendant

This type of pendant would normally be hung from a headdress, like a veil weight, but it can be worn as a very impressive necklace. Its function, apart from holding the veil down, was to protect its wearer.  It has several amuletic powers including the red beads and noisy dangles that keeps Djin at bay. In addition, there are several hands of Fatima pendants that in their own right have protective powers.

Made of mixed metals. In good vintage condition, with some scratches on glass cabochons and discoloration to the, back but generally in good vintage condition.

Dimensions: 25 x 8 cm (10 x 3 1/4") with bail and dangles and weight is 170 grams.
